About Sariantra Kali, LAc.
|
| |
Sariantra first heard the call to Spirit as a child. She was raised Catholic and, at that time, believed it was the voice of God. Now she works with Spirits from many diverse religions and believes all are a manifestation of the Divine One.
|
| |
She first discovered shamanic healing when Susan Keiraleyn, PhD. came to speak to her Women and Spirituality class at Portland State University
in 1994. (She received her BA from PSU in 1997.) Although she was an atheist at the time, she found the healing
work transformative and became a true believer in the power of Spirit.
She has been practicing shamanic divination for 10 years and maintains a
shamanic healing and Chinese medicine practice in Eugene, OR. She sees clients in her office at 1390 Oak Street in Eugene,
or via long distance.

She worked at the Ananada Nagar Acupuncture Institute and Hospital in West Bengal, India in fall of 2005. She assisted in the clinic and taught Zang Fu Theory to the first year acupuncture students. While working in the hospital, Sariantra was able to porvide care for patients who came in with ailments not commonly seen in the United States: leprosy, elephantitis and encephalitis. The experience proved to be challenging, heart expanding and humbling.

The Ananada Nagar hospital offers free service to the community. Acupuncture, Electro-Homeopathy, Auyurvedic and Allopathic medicine are all available to the patients. The hospital and Acupuncture Institute are located in Pundag, a beautiful area located in the jungle of western India. Although rural, the town is accessible by train from Kolkatta (also known as Calcutta). The people of Ananda Nagar are warm hearted and generous. They live a life of service supporting the farming families in the area.

She received her Master's in Psychology from Saybrook University in February of 2010. Her Master's thesis was titled "An exploration of the efficacy of acupuncture for the treatment of somatization in female Somali refugees" and blended Chinese and Western medicine. This training enables her to blend shamanic healing, Chinese medicine and psychology to address the body, spirit and mind levels of disease. She is focusing on the efficacy of using shamanic healing and Chinese medicine to ease anxiety in women who survived childhood sexual abuse.

| |
She has studied shamanic healing with Betsy Bergstrom, Michael and
Sandra Harner, Leslie Conton, Alida Birch, Anna Louise Williams and
Susan Keiraleyn. She has taken classes with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. In the world of Spirit, training is ongoing. She continues to learn new techniques and methods of healing. She is grateful to all who have helped her on her spiritual path.
